The HMS Malaya Cup Final 1927

The HMS Malaya Cup Final 1927 was held in the Padang, Kuala Lumpur (now known as Merdeka Square, Kuala Lumpur). It was the final match between Selangor against Singapore in 1927. A.N. Farquaharson was the Selangor Captain and Roy F. Smith was the Singapore Captain. In this final match, Selangor scored big with the scores of 8-1 against Singapore. It was the greatest winning for Selangor and a total defeat for Singapore. Selangor team proudly lifting the HMS Malaya Cup after winning it in this final match. Abdul Fatteh known as Dol Fattah, a well known footballer played in this match representing Singapore.


Above HMS Malaya Cup was Hon. H.W. Thomson (President of the Cups Committee) and behind Hon. H.W. Thomson was Hon. P.W. Gleeson (Secretary of the Committee). Standing top from left was Lin Teck Seng (linesman), J.J. Sheehan (referee) and R.H. Gale (linesman)
