Before Football Association of Malaysia HQ moved to today location at Wisma FAM, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, the previous HQ was located at Birch Road (Maharajalela Road), Kuala Lumpur. When the HQ was located at Birch Road (Maharajalela Road), Kuala Lumpur, Football Association of Malaysia was known as Football Association of Malaya.
Football Association of Malaya HQ at Birch Road (Maharajalela Road), Kuala Lumpur was officially opened in 7 December 1961 by Y.T.M Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj. At this time, Kuala Lumpur was under the administration of Selangor State before it became Federal Territory in 1974. Unfortunately the fate of this building was uncertain and can't be guaranteed its survival from being demolish or destroyed in the name of development as its located in the golden triangle of Kuala Lumpur. Nowadays, this building has been turned up into a hotel known as Mirama Hotel and still in good shape and preserved. But in the future, its fate still uncertain. This historical Football Association of Malaya HQ was a priceless heritage for us in shaping Malaya / Malaysia football history and legacy. Thousands of memories in shaping Malaya / Malaysia begun here. This building must be preserved and changed into a Malaysia Football Museum and recognized as one of Malaysia heritage building.
