The Malaya Cup 1966

In Malaya Cup 1966, Selangor and Malaysian Armed Forces qualified to the final.  It was the last HMS Malaya Cup before it changed its name to Malaysia Cup in 1967. Both teams were strong and contains players from the Malaysia football team. This final match was held in Stadium Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur on 6 August 1966.

In this final match, the line up for Selangor team was Chow Chee Keong, Abdullah Nordin, Clement Soosay, Sardar Khan, M. Chandran, C. Namasivayam, Hung Hooi Jin, Agus Salim, Abdul Ghani Minhat, Wong Fook Yoong, Arthur Koh, Stanley Gabrielle, Ong Kim Leng, Mohd Ali, Ratnasingam, Johnny Ooi, A. Gunaratnam, Rozanni and Charlie Kydd. Edwin Dutton was the coach for Selangor.

However in this final match, Selangor won the last HMS Malaya Cup 1966 with the score of 1-0 against Malaysian Armed Forces. Later in 1967, HMS Malaya Cup changed its name into Malaysia Cup for the first time.
